Birthday boy, Pip!

We got this series of great shots of Bond Litter birthday boy, Pip (HT Auric Goldfinger) and just loved them.

Pip is in Jen's Elite Obedience (Level 2) at Front Range K9 Academy and is showing off his sit-stays and stand-stays in the irises.

Horsetooth Whippets in Art

Just had to share this latest finished painting by artist Debra Canale (and mom to our whippet pup "Pip" - HT Auric Goldfinger):

We've always loved this photo of Jett & Fermi, and the painting really captures their silly expressions and playful, goofy, hound-dog nature of whippets:

Sounds like Debra plans to enter the painting in the Boulder Art Exhibit called "Raining Cats & Dogs" and will be on display July 8th - 29th.

For those of you who've been to the Front Range K9 Academy training studio lately, you may remember seeing the near-life-sized painting of Jen's collie, Siobhan, that Debra did for us last year after we lost Siobhan to a rattlesnake bite.  She's also done other great paintings of our whippets Polliwog and Lychee.    Here's our beloved Siobhan:

Something for the cat lovers...

How does a Colorado whippet stay warm on a cold and rainy Saturday?  By snuggling up to two big fluffy cats, of course!

Monty, Lychee, and Uncle Buck.

Monty & Buck, our big male cats are very interactive with the whippets and any pups we have around.  They're in charge of teaching manners with cats, and also expert ninja cat-wrestling skills.

When there are no pups around, they practice the ninja skills on each other:

The stare down.

"You talkin' to me?!"

"Maybe we won't..."

"Or then, again, we will!

Walking the way of the Tiger...they've decided to call a truce.  For now....
