Oo pups - 7.5 weeks!

The Oo pups have discovered (finally) the joys of outside time & sunshine.  It's been really cold and snowy for them, so having a break in the weather these last few days has been great.

Some pups were tired enough for me to snag several shots - others were soooo busy, it was all I could do to catch even one of them!

All tuckered out...

It's been a busy week with pups, work, and life...but I managed to snag this pic of the Oo pups all tuckered out after a major romp session in the smaller training room at work.

It was their first time in this training room, as we're always trying to expose them to new environments along their 8 weeks with us.  They were utterly fearless in their explorations, and used their litterboxes exclusively - not a single out-of-the-box accident!

Oo pups - 5.5 weeks old - OUTSIDE time!

The pack and I took advantage of today's warm weather to introduce the pups to the outside world, before the cold moves back in.

They stayed on the deck and didn't venture out into the big yard, which is normal for the first time outside.  Lots and lots and LOTS of sniffing was to be had, and they generally enjoyed themselves immensely and then came inside and collapsed - all tuckered out!

As usual, our smart, protective adults worked together as a pack to keep the pups safely on the deck, and maintained vigilant watch in the yard to keep the pups away from the 5-foot drop off they're too young to navigate, as well as keeping a watchful eye out for predators.

This is always fascinating to watch, as we know we have bobcats, coyotes, eagles, rattlesnakes (thankfully not this time of year!) and yes - cougars and bear in the canyon.

Pics of the adventure, as well as some from yesterday, playing in the living room.

Toodle-oo came in to cause some trouble, but Osgood put a swift end to that!

Betty Boop & a bit of Oodles.

First sniff of the outside world...not sure they should go through the doorway, even with mama Dots & "auntie" Theo encouraging them.

Dots says, "I don't think they're gonna do it, mom."

A few seconds later...they all tumbled out.
Aunt Lychee says, "Oh lordy...pups are loose.  I'm outta here."

So much to sniff out here!

Toodle-oo began to think about venturing into the big yard.  Daddy Baxter & Chewy took up guard posts immediately.

Mama Dots herded her away from the yard.

Baxter & Chewy - still on guard.

Baxter, Chewy are joined by Dots at the 5 foot 'drop off' that the adults keep the pups away from until they're more coordinated.

Guards on duty - Lychee, Trinity, Johnson.  Bok Choy can be seen up at the north end of the yard (top right).

Forming a perimeter - Trinity, Theo, Chewy, Spicy and Bok Choy.

Bok Choy - holding firm.  "No predators allowed in here!"

Johnson keeps watch over the drop off toward the south.

Trinity faces west off the drop off.

Baxter & Alfredo keep watchful eye to the southeast.

Meanwhile, Bug and the pups stay safely on the deck.
