Once in a lifetime, if you are very, very lucky, a dog comes along like no other.

Penelope was the best - at everything - From ruling the roost of our crazy household of whippets, to running, to showing, to teaching classes, to puppy raising and beyond. This dog did not know the meaning of 'quit' and remained that way 'til the end.

You will be missed, Princess P, but we are forever grateful to have shared in your journey of 15 years, 7 months, and 26 days.

Run free, sweet girl - may your spirit live on in your kids, grandkids, and now great-grandkids.

 She made it!!! A giant, heartfelt Happy 15th Birthday to the Princess (really the QUEEN BEE around here) - Horsetooth Penelope Pogostick, RN, JC, OTR, SR, AKC pointed).

Every year, I write about how amazing this dog is...and on this special day, I am pointedly aware of how short our time left together may be. She has graced our home with so much laughter and joy - the best mama dog, the best grandma dog, best puppy raiser, best alpha female, smartest dog we've ever had the pleasure of knowing, training, owning and loving.

Here's to you, Penelope - the best girl in the world.
