We have PUPPIES!

 

Bella (x Jett) pups were born between 12:45pm and 3:35 pm today (08/31/15).  We have 8 pups - 7 girls; 1 boy.

Since these pups will be ready for their new homes at Halloween, we're going with a Halloween name theme.  All names are characters (some notable - some obscure) in some of our favorite horror films.  See if you can name the films they're from!

12:45pm:  Theodora - Solid black female w/ white nose snip; birth weight:  307 grams

1:30pm:  Annie Hayworth - Black & white parti-marked female; birth weight:  323 grams

1:40pm:  Duke Henry the Red - Solid red with a black mask & nose snip male; birth weight:  337 grams

2:10pm:  Little Rock - Brindle & white parti-marked female; birth weight:  262

2:35pm:  Becky Driscoll - Solid black female, w/ white blaze:  birth weight:  284

3:15pm:  Wichita - Brindle & white parti-marked female: birth weight:  316

3:18pm:  Stevie Wayne - Black Irish-marked (white collar) female:  birth weight:  294

Horsetooth Update 08/10/2015 - Past pups, Upcoming Puppies, Racing, & Show news

It's been a long time since our last post, and we've got lots of fun news.

Upcoming Puppies:

It looks like both Bella and Spicy are expecting.  If they are, we'll have pups right around the first week of September.  We're looking forward to this repeat breeding of Bella & Jett, and also really excited to see what Spicy and Alfredo can do (this is Alfredo's first litter).  Stay tuned for updates...

Racing News:

We had an exceptional day of NOTRA (Oval Track) racing on Sunday, August 9th.  Of the six dogs we entered, ALL placed in the top ten.  In fact, Feynman took 4th place for the day in a field of 16 - and the competition was mostly race-bred whippets.  We occupied places 4 through 9 in the winnings.  Go Team Horsetooth!

Show News:

The Rocky Mountain Hound Association show is coming up this week (08/13 and 08/14), along with the Greeley Kennel Club show (08/15 & 08/16).  Jen will be attending with Chewy and Dots all four days.  

For anyone interested in coming out, the show is at Island Grove Regional Park in Greeley (N 11th Avenue & D Street • Greeley, Colorado 80631).  

Whippets show at 1:25 p.m. on Thursday in Ring 20.  We show at 8:45 a.m. on Friday in Ring 20.  Then on Saturday, we show at 12:50 p.m. in Ring 19; and on Sunday at 9:20 a.m. in Ring 19.  

This is the biggest hound show west of the Mississippi all year, so if you want to see a LOT of whippets in one place, (there are more than 60 dogs entered on Sat. & Sun.), this is the place to be.  :)

Past Puppies:

Ok!  On to some new pics.  To start, we've gotten some really great pics of some of the Bond 007 pups, settling in nicely in their new homes:

First off, we've got "Isla" (HT Kissy Suzuki)  - looking pretty darn cute & spritely at 10 weeks old:

Next up, we've got a bunch of  "Miso" (HT Xenia Onatopp) - settling in during her first weeks and then playing games with the computer & mirror...wonder what she's thinking of herself and the computer puppy...

 

Next up, we've got Hugo (HT Hugo Drax)...who likes to sleep with his big brother Milo...but he also still likes to sleep in the litterbox, just like when he was a tiny pup!  His parents had been thinking of getting rid of it, but he seems to really like it as a bed...

Next up, we've got "Pip" (HT Auric Goldfinger), hanging out with his new sis, Twiggy:

Last but certainly not least, we've got past pup, "Chief" (HT Rolo), from our Olde Time Candy litter #3.  He's doing some sun worshiping, and hanging out for story time with his mom:
